I believe therapy is a place to better understand what's been holding you back, while building the skills and strategies to move toward the life you want. My approach focuses on addressing elements of your past or present environment that may be preventing you from reaching your full potential. Our work together will explore past trauma and adverse experiences while helping you learn to live more intentionally in the present and in harmony with yourself and your relationships. In our sessions together, we can use Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing to look at both what is bothering you in the moment and painful impacts from our history.
The thing I love most about being a therapist is getting to form genuine connections with my clients. My work puts up front and center the development of a positive therapeutic relationship, intentionally building a trusting environment where you can feel safe, heard, and supported. I am very strengths-based in my approach, which means we will focus on highlighting your achievements, natural resilience, and progress. I come from a professional background working with communities, young people, and disenfranchised populations in building skills to manage emotions and difficult situations, while addressing and healing past traumas when needed.
